Shopping & Search

How do I search for products?
Use the navigation bar to access search styles. "Browse by Collection" groups products by type. The "Pick a-" search tool lets you filter by type, color, and/or size. The Advanced Search bar (top right) allows searches by product names, IDs, keywords, or brand names.
How do I place an order online?
Add items to your shopping cart while browsing. Click the cart icon and follow checkout instructions. Ensure your billing address matches the cardholder's. An order confirmation email with an ID# will be sent upon completion.
Will my credit card and contact information be secure?
ModernRugs.com uses advanced encryption and SSL protection on all checkout pages. However, no absolute security guarantee exists. Sign off and close your browser when finished, especially on shared computers.

Custom Rugs

Can you make me a Custom Rug?
Yes. We create bespoke rugs in any size, shape, construction, design, and material. Contact custom@modernrugs.com for quotes, or use the "custom inquiry" button on any product page. A representative will respond within 1–2 business days.

Taxes & Payment

Do I have to pay sales tax?
No tax applies outside Maryland and Pennsylvania. Orders shipped to Maryland or Pennsylvania incur 6% sales tax. Those with resale certificates should call 800-830-7847 (Mon–Fri, 10 am–6 pm ET).

How do I check my order status?
Click "order status" in the top right of the navigation. For details, contact Customer Service at 800-830-7847 (Mon–Fri, 10 am–6 pm ET) or email shop@modernrugs.com.
How do I modify or cancel an order?
Contact Customer Service by phone at 800-830-7847 (Mon–Fri, 10 am–6 pm ET). Once an order has shipped, it cannot be modified or canceled.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?
Return requests must be submitted within 15 days of delivery via returns@modernrugs.com or 800-830-7847 (Mon–Fri, 10 am–6 pm ET). A 15% restocking fee applies. European imports and custom items are final sale. Refused deliveries incur return shipping costs plus restocking fees. Rugs returned without an authorization number will be refused.

Minor irregularities in size, texture, and color are acceptable for handmade custom rugs. Once loom construction or wool dyeing begins, cancellations and refunds are not available.

Discounts

Do you offer discounts to the Trade?
Yes. Trade discounts apply to both standard and custom orders. Submit an application to learn about membership benefits. Special pricing is confidential until approval.
Do you give special discounts to non-profits?
Qualified organizations supporting health, education, justice, and peace receive 10% off standard or custom orders. Request an Organization Qualification Form at sales@modernrugs.com.

Shipping & Delivery

How long will it take to receive my order?
Most orders arrive within 5–10 business days. Out-of-stock items display expected delivery dates. Check availability at status@modernrugs.com or 800-830-7847. Made-to-order lead times are approximate and do not guarantee specific delivery dates.
How long will it take for a backordered item to arrive?
Backordered items lack current supplier availability. We provide anticipated shipping dates as soon as they become available.
How much does shipping cost?
Free domestic shipping applies to stocked items up to 8'×10' shipping to the contiguous 48 states (excludes oversized items and Hawaii/Alaska). All other locations receive calculated rates at checkout.
How will my order be delivered?
Most products ship via UPS Ground from US warehouses. Some items ship directly from overseas manufacturers.
How do I properly receive an oversized rug?
Delivery drivers deliver "curbside" at driveways only. Please arrange assistance in advance if you need help moving the rug indoors.
Can you ship international orders?
Yes, worldwide (excluding Africa). International shipping rates calculate at checkout. Custom orders use International Air Freight unless noted otherwise. Customers are responsible for all import fees, taxes, and handling charges.

Showroom

Do you have a showroom that I can visit?
ModernRugs.com operates exclusively online with headquarters in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Rug samples are available for loan with a $100–$250 refundable deposit (returned within 15 days). Call 800-830-7847 (Mon–Fri, 10 am–6 pm ET) to inquire.
